Teacher-in-Residence Opportunity at UNI
What is a teacher-in-residence?
In some school-university partnerships, it is a teacher who takes a semester or year leave from the classroom to
teach or co-teach full time at the university. In our PDS model, we are experimenting with this idea at a smaller scale,
but are still attempting to bring the wisdom of practice into university classrooms and create new leadership opportunities for mentor teachers.
In the UNI teacher-in-residence program, up to 12 teachers (four teachers on three panels) will be selected to be
part of a teachers-in-residence panel for one section of the Level 1 Exploring Teaching course (200:017).
They will take part in a series of three panel presentations/discussions for their section. The dates, times,
and topics of the three panels are:
Monday section panel dates: March 8th, April 5th, and April 19th , 5:30-6:20 p.m.
Tuesday section panel dates: March 9th, April 6th, and April 20th 4:00-4:50 p.m.
Thursday section panel dates: March 11th, April 8th, and April 22st 5:30-6:20 p.m.
