The Orava Model is unique because it provides long term, intensive teacher in-service where teachers work closely together to learn new instructional methods and then apply them. Then they come together to discuss their efforts - successes and failures - modify their approaches and try again. In the process they develop communities of change agents who bond around the ideas of shared professional development, integrity and best practices. The model also emphasizes the development of local capacity so that the program can be implemented locally. |
