In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell and 400 million people including 150 million children began the search for a new way of life. In schools teachers where asking “how do we teach democracy so our children will have a sense of life in a new democratic nation?” They were not looking for a civics course but for ways of living democratically. We were privileged to be invited to the Slovak Republic to assist with education reform so we began what has turned out to be an amazing odyssey for us.
