COE student receives Lux Service Award

Jessica Staudt is an Elementary Education major minoring in Social Studies Teaching and Ethics from Charles City, Iowa. Jessica has been highly involved in Kappa Delta Pi, Panther Push, a self-started service project - "Blankies for Babies", Relay for Life, and Up 'Til Dawn where she has taken on the role of Executive Director this year. She has become a leader and role-model to many students on campus as a Student Admission Ambassador and Resident Assistant. Jessica has taken on many leadership roles as a Resident Assistant (RA) including serving on various committees and presenting at the UNI RA Conference She has also been selected as a member of the UNI Chapter of the National Residence hall Honorary (NRHH). Sarah Montgomery, Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction said "As a mentor and leader on campus and in the local community who has decided to dedicate her life to service as an educator, Jessica is a brilliant beacon of light who should be honored for her unselfish commitment to others."
