Educators for Change Film and Book Series :

Education Diversity Committee's "Educators for Change Book Club" is going to be reading the book, Holler if You Hear Me: The Education of A Teacher and His Students (Teaching for Social Justice) by Gregory Miche (2009). Please share this information with your students and consider offering participation as a class assignment or an option for extra credit. Please also consider joining a group yourself. It is great to have faculty participation!! More information about dates and times the book club will be meeting will be sent out soon. Read editorial review and author information. Educators for Change Film and Book Series :

November 14, 2013 

On Thursday, November 14, at 7 pm at the Center for Multicultural Education, the College of Education's Diversity Team is showing the Frontline documentary, Poor Kids, as part of its Educators for Change Film and Book Series. In this documentary Frontline explores what poverty means to children and the country's future. Several Iowa families are featured in this documentary. Please encourage your students to attend and perhaps, offer extra credit for doing so. Please attend yourself as well. We will have a discussion following the film and cookies will be provided.
