The following standards have been reviewed and approved
by both the COE technology committee and the Dean’s
office and are effective immediately
To
provide the best and most expeditious technology support it
is necessary for IRTS to create and maintain standards for
both hardware and software for all COE units (Price Lab School
excluded).
To
assure compliance with these standards, and thus assuring
that your unit receives the best possible support contact
Neil Clopton at neil.clopton@uni.edu
to review hardware and software configurations prior to
purchase.
Your
existing non-standard operating systems will be supported
by IRTS until August 15, 2003. New purchases of non-standard
devices and operating systems will not be supported by IRTS.

Handheld computer or PDA Brands must run Palm OS
Palm,
Handspring
Operating Systems
Macintosh
IRTS provides support and service for the current version*
of Mac OS and its direct predecessor. As of May 2002, these
are Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.
*Is
defined as Apple's primary OS for new systems.
Windows
IRTS provides support and service for two recent versions
of Microsoft Windows. These versions are chosen by IRTS
based on availability and suitability to COE needs. They
are Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional.
