COMPUTER CONFIGURATIONS

Fiscal Fact: Macintosh computers are typically more expensive than Dell for the same features. Therefore, unless you have a specific need for a Macintosh, you could save money with Dell.

Dell: What to get

Most users will find these Dell systems will be more than adequate to assist them in their work.

You may simply purchase the suggested system or configure a custom configuration by editing the COE recommended Dell system at the Dell/UNI site (MUST USE INTERNET EXPLORER).

Apple: What to get

Most users will find that our suggested Apple systems will be more than adequate to assist them in their work.

You may simply purchase the recommended system or create a custom configuration via UNI's custom Apple site. (UID# and MyUNIverse Password Required)


All custom configurations must comply with these minimum standards:


Dell

  • 1GB of RAM
  • CD-RW/DVD “combo drive” (DVD+RW, DVD-RW optional)
  • Windows XP Professional
  • Graphics card with dedicated video RAM (not "shared" video RAM)

Apple

  • 1GB of RAM
  • CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive (SuperDrive optional)
