Student Response System technology is now available in COE.
A Student Response System is a combination of software and hardware that allows students to deliver almost instantaneous feedback to their instructor. They are also known as Audience Response Systems (ARS), or simply “clickers”. The Turning Point Audience Response System is now the "officially" supported response system on the UNI campus. UNI has an agreement that allows department(colleges) to purchase Turning Point ARS technology at a reduced price.
The COE (via student computer funds) purchased 1 Receiver and 1 Response Card(clicker) that Faculty can now check out from IRTS located in SEC 222. IRTS has installed the ARS software on its multimedia checkout carts and in all COE multimedia classrooms <http://www.uni.edu/coe/irtsweb/services/labs_mul.shtml>. The software can also be installed on Faculty office computers for planning and creation of class presentations.
NOTE: In order for students to purchase the Response Cards(clickers), Faculty must have their department place an order to University Book and Supply. Please inform students that once they purchase a Student Response Card, it can be used for any other course that is using the Turning Point Response system. It can be sold back to the bookstore at the end of the semEester.
