UNI Early Childhood Education Summit: Focus on Quality-Quality Math and
Science Curriculum for Preschool Teachers
Will be held on September 12-13, 2008 in the Schindler Education
Center. Karen Worth, Senior Research Scientist at the Center for
Science Education, Education Development Center, Inc., will give a
keynote presentation titled, "Science and Young Children: A Natural
Fit." Karen Worth is also noted for her co-authorship of the Young
Scientist Series, a well-known science curriculum for children ages
three to five developed with funding from the National Science Foundation.

College of Education Faculty Changes:
Mary Herring, interim department head and associate professor in Curriculum & Instruction, has been named interim associate dean of the College of Education. She will replace Biff Williams who has accepted a position as Dean of the College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services at Indiana State University. Jill Uhlenberg, assistant professor in Curriculum & Instruction, will serve as interim department head of Curriculum & Instruction.
