Physical Education Club ¡V Teaching

 

Article I ¡V Name

The name of this organization shall be the Physical Education Club ¡V Teaching (P.E.-T Club)

 

Article II ¡V Purpose and Aim

The purpose of the physical education club is to provide information, promote professionalism, camaraderie and enjoyment, pertaining to various areas of physical education, student teaching experiences and class scheduling, as well as promote professionalism throughout the club members.

 

Article III ¡V Membership

Section 1. Membership in the Physical Education Club shall be open to any undergraduate and graduate student at the University of Northern Iowa .

 

Section 2. An individual shall be considered a member upon payment of annual dues to the treasurer.

 

Section 3. All members shall be entitled to vote, hold office and participate in all club activities.

 

Article IV ¡V Officers

Section 1. The elected officers of this club shall be the President and Vice President.

 

Section 2. The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and faculty advisor (non-voting members) shall comprise the Executive Board.

 

Section 3. A vacancy in the office of the president shall be filled by the vice president and extend for the rest of the regular term.

•  A new vice president will be elected by the membership.

 

Section 4. Vacancies in offices of secretary and treasurer shall be elected by the membership.

 

Article V ¡V Duties of Officers

Section 1. The President shall preside at all meeting of the club, shall call special meetings and appoint all committees. The President shall be the club representative to outside sources.

 

Section 2. The Vice President shall assist the President, and in the absence of the President the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President.

 

Section 3. The Secretary shall take minutes at all meetings and give a reading of the minutes from the previous meeting, act as club Historian, take roll at each meeting and activity and forward a copy to the Treasurer.

 

Section 4. The Treasurer shall present a report at each meeting for the club's current account, take and record dues, issue receipts for all cash received, deposit funds and disperse funds as the Executive Board directs countersigned by a faculty advisor.

 

Article VI ¡V Elections

Section1. The office of President reserved for any Sophomore, Junior or Senior and shall be held by either gender.

 

Section2. The office of Vice President will be determined by the gender of the president election.

•  The Vice President shall be the opposite gender of the president election.

 

Section 3. The office of Secretary and Treasurer shall be voted in from the membership and shall be either gender.

 

Section 4. Quorum

•  A majority of membership of the Executive Board shall constitute a quorum for Board meetings.

•  A majority of members present at regular meetings shall constitute a quorum for conducting business.

 

Section 5. No member shall hold more than one elected office at a time.

 

Section 6. Elections will be held the second to the last regular meeting of the school year.

•  The officers election will be oriented and/or guided into their offices by the respective previous officers.

•  The officers election will preside at the last regular meeting of the year.

 

Article VII ¡V Parliamentary Procedures

Roberts Rules of Order, Revised, shall govern the Physical Education Club in all cases to which they are applicable.

 

Article VIII ¡V Amendments

Amendments to the Bylaws may be proposed to the Executive Board, which will be presented in writing to the membership. The amendment shall be adopted provided a 2/3 of the members present at a regularly scheduled meeting vote in favor of proposal.

 

Standing rules:

Dues ¡V Dues shall be reviewed in the spring of each school year by the Executive Board and recommendations made to the membership for vote. Dues shall include the annual dues for the Iowa Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, along with annual club dues.

 

Meetings ¡V Meeting time, day, and location for next term's meeting will be decided in the fall by the current membership.
