Q: How can I talk to an advisor?
A: When you declare a major in one of the HPELS Divisions, you will be assigned an advisor, who will assist you in understanding requirements for the major, selecting classes, and preparing for graduation. You can check in the mail HPELS office (203 WRC, (319) 273-2141) to find out who your advisor is, if you do not know.

Q: How can I declare a major in one of the HPELS programs?
A: To declar a major in Athletic Training, Health Promotion & Education, Leisure, Youth & Human Services, or Physical Education, you will need to contact the Division Coordinator for the appropriate Division. Information about each program and application forms (if required) are available in the HPELS office (203 WRC).

Q: How and where can I get my OSHA Universal Precautions Standards and Mandatory Abuse Reporter certificates?
A: These certifications are offered every term by the College of Education. To receive information on the OSHA Universal Precautions Standards and/or Mandatory Abuse Reporter certificates, please contact the Director of Teacher Education Office at 159A Schindler Education Center (SEC) or (319) 273-2265.

Q: How can I transfer to UNI and major in a HPELS program?
A: Transfer students who wish to major in one of the HPELS programs should contact UNI Admissions Office for further information, 120 Gilchrist (GIL), 319) 273-2281. During transfer registration, you will meet with a faculty representative from your intended major to declare the major and select appropriate courses.
