UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES ATHLETIC TRAINING MAJOR
Introduction

Certified athletic trainers are medical experts in preventing, diagnosing, and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. The program is highly competitive with 24 new students being admitted each year. Upon graduation, students will be eligible to sit for the National Athletic Training Board of Certification (NATABOC) Examination. In addition, UNI graduates are also eligible for an Athletic Training License in the State of Iowa. In order to become eligible to sit for the NATABOC Examination, students within this major must complete all of the coursework within the pre-professional and professional areas. In addition, students will complete a clinical experience requirement each semester.
