DIVISIONS  

The School of HPELS includes several instructional units. Programs offered lead to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.). The various divisions that comprise the School are described below:

 

Division of Athletic Training

The Division of Athletic Training offers students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a solid understanding of athletic training clinical practice in collegiate, secondary, clinical, hospital, industrial, and professional sport settings. For further information, visit the website

 

Division of Health Promotion & Education
The Division of Health Promotion & Education offers students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a program of study to prepare individuals for professional positions in schools, hospitals, government, public health departments, non-profit agencies, worksite health promotion programs, and commercial operational health clubs.
 
Division of Leisure, Youth & Human Services
The Division of Athletic Training provides students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a solid understanding of athletic training clinical practice in collegiate, secondary, clinical, hospital, industrial, and professional sport settings.

 

Division of Physical Education
The Division of Physical Education provides a contemporary program of study in the area of human movement studies. Programs of study focus on the preparation of undergraduate and graduate students to assume educational and leadership roles in a variety of settings. For further information, visit the website
 
Division of Liberal Arts - Personal Wellness

One of the six categories of the Liberal Arts Core, the Personal Wellness course offering combines theoretical classroom-based learning experiences with laboratory learning opportunities. The lecture component includes concepts related to exercise science, nutrition, stress management, contemporary threats and decision-making. The laboratory portion includes assessments, application, and experiential learning in lifetime fitness and skill activities.

 

Divison of Graduate Studies
The Division of Graduate Studies is responsible for the guidance of the School of HPELS graduate program which includes the development and modification of the graduate curriculum. The graduate faculty is comprised of all members of the graduate faculty within the School of HPELS.
