Department of Educational Psychology and Foundations

The mission of this department is fourfold:

First, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of psychological and social foundations that support the preparation and continuing development of educational and human-service professionals. These courses include those in human development, personality, abnormal and school psychology, educational psychology, measurement and research, and the history, sociology, and philosophy of education. 

Second, to create and administer graduate programs that draw from courses in educational psychology, social foundations, and school psychology which respond to the needs of education and human-service professionals. 

Third, to conduct and participate in research and other scholarly activities that contribute to the knowledge base and professional practice of education and human-service personnel. 

Fourth, to serve the college, university, state, and nation consistent with our professional expertise and interests. 

The department offers masters degrees in 1) Educational Psychology and 2) Professional Development for Teachers. Also offered is a specialist degree in School Psychology
