The University of Northern Iowa has a tradition of providing an affordable quality education. Northern lowa's philosophy is to provide as much financial assistance as possible--specifically, non-loan financial assistance. Grants, work-study programs and scholarships enable our students to attend UNI and graduate without a heavy dependence on loans.

Graduate assistantships are available to qualified students who are working toward a graduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa. They may only be held by full-time students who are in residence during the time of the assistantship appointment. The associated work assignment is designed to contribute to the student's graduate education. In order to be eligible for an assistantship all appropriate paper work must be filed by February 1.

Financial Assistance in terms of grants, scholarships, and loans are available to eligible students through the UNI Financial Aid Office, 255 Gilchrist Hall, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, 50614-0024, 1-800-772-2736 (toll free) or (319) 273-2700.
