Kevin Finn, Ph.D.
Kevin J. Finn, Ph.D. is an associate professor in the School of Health , Physical Education, and Leisure Services. His educational training is in exercise physiology and has been awarded Fellow status in the American College of Sports Medicine. His research interests include performance enhancement issues and the promotion of physical activity. His specific contributions are in applied research areas related to weight loss in wrestlers as well as the assessment of physical activity behavior in children. He has recently published articles on glutamine supplementation and carbohydrate feeding after caloric restrictive weight loss in athletes. His current research interest is in understanding physical activity levels of preschool-aged children. He directs Project PLAY: Preschool Lessons for Active Youngsters, one of the ongoing projects in the UNI Youth Fitness and Obesity Institute.
