Financial Assistance

The University of Northern Iowa has a tradition of providing an affordable quality education.

Graduate assistantships are available to qualified students who are working toward a graduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa. They may only be held by full-time students who are in residence during the time of the assistantship appointment. The associated work assignment is designed to contribute to the student's graduate education. Admitted students to the Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs program will receive information about applying for assistantships in their acceptance letters. For information about assistantships that will be a part of this year's Interview Day, please visit the assistantships page.

Financial Assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans are available to eligible students through the UNI Office of Student Financial Aid.  More information can be found on the Financial Aid website.

There is also funding available through the UNI Intercollegiate Academics Fund for students who make presentations at professional conferences or for research and creative activities.
