Doctorate of Education

The UNI doctorate offers practicing educators the opportunity to earn the terminal professional degree.  The UNI Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership is a widely respected practitioner's degree that prepares candidates for leadership roles in PK-12 schools, Area Education Agencies, postsecondary institutions, and other educational settings.  The program of study consists of a minimum of 60 units beyond the master's degree, and is divided into three components: the professional common core (15 units), advanced professional studies (38 units), and the dissertation (7 units). Some candidates choose to combine their doctoral studies with earning licensure in principalship or superintendency at the same time.
