Instructional Technology Facilitator Certificate
Contact Dr. Leigh Zeitz (Leigh.Zeitz@uni.edu)

stepsThe target audience for this degree is PK-12 teachers and administrators. The focus of the certificate program is towards facilitating teaching and learning environments supported by technology. Many districts are now eliminating technology coordinators due to lack of funding, yet teachers are still expected to integrate technology. Teachers must know more about technology to effectively integrate it into their classrooms. This certificate is targeted towards those who want the expertise but do not wish or need a master’s degree at this time.

The program is aligned to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Technology Facilitator Standards. The program is available for current Iowa teachers and requires 18 semester hours. No final comprehensive exam is required for completion of the certificate program. Classes are offered in either a local ICN delivery mode or totally online. These courses can later be applied towards a Masters of Arts in Education degree at UNI.
