information to groups. Teachers can certainly use PowerPoint to create dynamic multimedia to support instruction, but students can also use PowerPoint
to organize and present their own ideas or findings.
Assignment
Create a PowerPoint slide show that supports your presentation on
the use of technology within your thematic unit. PowerPoint should support both the individual and compare/contrast portions of your presentation. Your slide show will
provide the visual cues for your audience. so it should include
an adequate amount of text and pictures to support the content of your presentation.
Requirements
- Related to the use of technology and media within your unit.
- The slide show should have a consistent design (color scheme, fonts,
graphics, etc)
- Avoid using too much text on each slide (observe the 6x6 rule of thumb).
- Avoid using shadow fonts or gradient backgrounds as these generally
do not work very well with projection systems.
- Incorporate a variety of elements (text and images). The aim should
be to create a multimedia slide show!
- Do not overuse sounds and transitions. You are not required to include these elements, and your design should
not detract from the messages you are trying to convey.
