"It's either Black or White...."
Sometimes people try to solve complex things using simple answers... they try to avoid seeing the shades of gray that exist particularly when they are dealing with people who are different from one another.


Occasionally someone will force an issue that is very complex into just two sides or positions and neglect important shades of gray. For example, "You are either for abortion or you are against it."

An example of someone trying to answer a complex question with an answer that is just too simple.

You're either with me or you are against me in this fight... parents and children are different and they always end up fighting.... this time you have got to be on one side or the other.
