Appeal to the crowd
Sometimes we say things that a lot of people will agree with and using their agreement to support our ideas or positions.

Appeal to the crowd is a way to get people to believe one thing by linking it with to the way lots of people think. For example, "A vote for me is a vote for the American way of life, for family, tradition and stability."

An example of someone who makes a statement that everyone will agree with to "win" an argument.

I seem to remember the last time we had a problem like this and we did it your way .... now this time I think we need to keep in mind that the most important thing is the family and keeping it together. If I'm right and we stick together we can do anything, am I right guys or am I right!
