Habitudes for College Students
The presentation "Habitudes for College Students," was hosted by The College of Education and the Educational Technology User Group
(ETUG) on Monday, March 30, in Schindler Education Center room 252 at UNI. The
presentation was delivered by Angela Maiers, a former teacher,
author and founder of Maiers Educational Services, Inc. The focus of the presentation was on the difference between being creative on occasion and
living each day creatively as a habit and attitude. Habitudes for
successful living include courage, imagination, curiosity, perseverance,
self-awareness, and adaptability.
Maiers’ recent book is "Classroom Habitudes: Teaching 21st Century
Learning Habits and Attitudes." For more information about Maiers, visit www.tinyurl.com/habitudes.

Prior Knowledge: Learning from What We Already Know
Parents play a key role in their children's learning. Understanding in
real ways how parents can help is something we can teach and modeling is
a great way to accomplish this. A small team of literacy education and
Price lab educators worked with Joe Marchesani and his video production
team to create a model video for parents on using children's prior
knkowledge to learn new information. Watch the Video (Real Player required)
