Dr. Merrie Schroeder, Department of Teaching, College of Education, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Quality Leaders for Novice Teachers Commission for the national Association of Teacher Educators (ATE). This 3 year appointment begins in 2004.

The primary charge of this commission is to provide a thorough and detailed investigation of what types of classroom data collection should be used when observing novice teachers that ensure high quality teaching and what type of experience/training should observers have before evaluating and/or mentoring novice teachers.
