Why did you choose the UNI College of Education?
I decided to go attend UNI because while visiting the campus i loved it right away and i've always heard great things about the teaching program. I've had close people attend UNI and loved the experience so this interested me a lot.

What academic experiences have had a major impact on you?
While attending high school i was able to take a class called Introduction to Education and i was able experience hands on activities, like giving my own lesson to a kindergarten class and working with children. Because of these experience it's allowed me to think over becoming a teacher and still makes me excited to become one.

How has your College of Education scholarship created opportunities for you?
From receiving this scholarship it allows me to focus on my academics and not have to worry on how i'm going to pay for tuition. Now i'm able to have a good first year of college and enjoy my experience at UNI.

What would you tell a prospective student who’s considering the UNI teacher education program?
At this time it would be difficult to give a precise answer but from what I hear its an amazing college, especially for teaching and from having known people that have graduated from UNI and have become teachers, and the teaching skills they developed ensures me that I will be getting a good education and i will be involved in a great program.

What are your career plans?
My future plans are to graduate from UNI with a degree in Elementary Education. I plan on moving back to my hometown area to teach, whether it be in West Des Moines or a suburb around this area. I will be teaching either 1st or 2nd grade and working on getting my masters.
