presented by international staff developers
The Importance of Oral Language in a Balanced Literacy Program
This session will demonstrate the importance of the links between Oral Language and Writing. Participants will engage in oral and written language activities that will show the connection between oral language and the different forms of writing genre.
We invite all University of Northern Iowa student teachers, faculty, staff, and area educators to attend the seminar.

This half-day seminar is free to all
UNI education students, faculty, and staff.
There will be an $8 charge for area educators to be paid at the door.

PRESENTERS
Judy Knott: Judy has 25 years teaching experience in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, and is a trained Reading Recovery teacher.
Mary McDonald: Mary has been involved in the training of associate teachers for the Auckland College of Education.
