Google Literature Trips Webinar 1/14, 3PM at sec 403:
Imagine actually tracking the cross-country journeys from /The Grapes of Wrath/ as you and your students read it in class. This isn't just putting dots on an aging map hanging in the corner of your classroom. This involves integrating satellite photos of the earth with archival resources of the past to provide a rich experience in reliving the tale.

It’s as though you are actually walking the the terrain of their journeys through Google Earth. Give your students an in-depth understanding of what Tom Joad saw through his family's expedition from Oklahoma to California in search of a new life.

Jerome Burg, the developer of the GoogleLitTrip.com project will share tips, tricks, integration strategies and pedagogical considerations for ensuring that this technology implementation directly addresses good learning theory. Mr. Burg has used this system to enliven a number of stories.

Come on Wednesday, 1/14 at 3:00 pm to SEC 403 and hear him tell you how it work and how you can implement it into your curriculum.

Note: This webinar will be shown at PLS 210 & SEC 403
