Coordinator/Supervisor of PK-12 student teachers beginning January 2010 (preferred). Nine-month; rank dependent upon degree and experience. Initial assignment in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate/supervise student teachers (placing, supervising, conferencing, evaluating).
- Serve as a liaison between UNI and the Cedar Falls and surrounding school districts.
- Assume committee responsibilities and assignments of the Office of Student Field Experiences;
participate in instruction/curriculum development team as appropriate.
- Work with practitioners on collaborative professional activities.
- Teach courses/seminars as appropriate in academic discipline.
- Demonstrate scholarly activity, quality teaching, and service to the University and profession.
Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (assistant/associate professor rank) required for tenure-track appointment (preferred);
Masters degree (instructor rank) required for term appointment.
- At least five years of successful teaching experience in pre-K, elementary and/or secondary school required.
- Knowledge of and experience with educational supervision and evaluation, school curriculum,
teaching/learning processes, and instructional strategies required.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a university instructional/curriculum development and research team required.
- Demonstrated ability to network with school administrators/personnel required.
- Proficient or exemplary evaluations from current or immediate past supervisor required.
- Pre-employment background checks are required.
