The University of Northern Iowa is seeking an Instructor in the Division of Liberal Arts and the Division of Physical Education in the School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services. This position involves teaching and service in the area of physical education. Position is a two-year, renewable term.

The College of Education offers a full range of programs in education and education related fields (Bachelor through Doctorate) and is comprised of six departments: Curriculum and Instruction; Education Psychology and Foundations; Educational Administration and Counseling; Special Education; Teaching; and the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Services.

The School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Services is organized into six divisions: Athletic Training; Health Promotion and Education; Physical Education; Leisure, Youth and Human Services; Graduate Studies; and Liberal Arts.

Responsibilities:

Serves as an instructor in the Division of Liberal Arts and the Division of Physical Education with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate level in both Divisions. Teaching responsibilities in the Division of Liberal Arts include the Personal Wellness course lecture in the areas of exercise science and nutrition. Division of Physical Education responsibilities include teaching courses in the areas of fitness programming/fitness management, physical activity and health, and coordinating student internships.

Qualifications:  

Master’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field, plus at least five years of successful teaching experience at the university level, and first aid and CPR-Pro certifications required. Earned doctorate degree and American College of Sports Medicine Health/Fitness Instructor Certification preferred. Pre-employment background checks are required.

Salary and Benefits:
