Assistant Professor, Tenure Track

Position:  Assistant professor of Special Education with required specialization in visual impairments (VI) to coordinate VI program leading to instructional certification or graduate degree.

Appointment date: August, 2008

Qualifications:

Required:  Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field (ABD will be considered); expertise in VI curriculum and school-based experience; demonstrated competence in Braille, assistive technology, instructional methods, collaboration with general educators and interdisciplinary relationships; and strong demonstrated or emergent record of scholarship related to VI and related areas.
Desired:    At least 3 years of experience in public or private general and special education programs instructing students with VI; college teaching, advising, and professional service activities.

Responsibilities: Administration of and instruction in VI program; collaboration with schools and service providers; student advisement and field-based supervision; publication and grant procurement.
