There is now one UNI web page designed specifically for students to easily access class schedule, grades, financial aid, student employment, e-mail, degree audits, U-bill and university events. You can access University department web pages, reorganize you own page or add other web links. This portal is already personalized for each student and is also self-customizable according to your preferences. To log into this page using your UNI username and password go to: http://myuniverse.uni.edu, or click on the MyUNIverse link from the UNI homepage.

The CME provides cultural, educational, and social activities and programs which promote cross-cultural awareness and multicultural understanding among all members of the UNI campus and community.

Assist students with financial counseling, university bills, promissory loans (Perkins & Direct) and fee payments. Cash personal checks up to $50, disburse short-term loans and financial aid checks.

Assistance with personal and relationship counseling (individual and group sessions). This center promotes the personal development and psychological well-being of all students and encourages a college environment that is conductive to growth and learning.

Tutorial sessions for improvement of writing papers in assigned courses, assistance in improving writing skills in general. Assistance in improving math skills is also offered in tutorial sessions. The program provides assistance with course selection, registration, academic, career and personal counseling; and monitoring of academic progress.

Assist adults (19 and over) with GED or post-secondary educational placement, financial aid forms, loans, scholarships, career counseling and referrals to additional funding sources.

This program is an academic support service for eligible students at the University. The program consists of academic skill development; financial aid, academic, career and personal counseling; assistance with course selection and registration, and monitoring of academic progress.

Several of the Center’s programs are geared toward, but not limited to, low income and persons of color. Identifying community needs, providing educational opportunities for people of all ages and races, and assisting students in becoming comfortable and confident in learning are the Center’s main goals. This is implemented through the offering of a variety of programs – Classic Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math and Science, Educational Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Center, and GEAR UP.

This program is designed to increase the number of students from underrepresented backgrounds who enter graduate studies leading to the Ph.D. degree. Participants are provided with an academic enrichment program that provides tutoring, academic counseling, an opportunity for a summer internship, financial aid and admissions assistance, research opportunities, and faculty mentors.

Provides ethnic minority students a “jump start” on their first year at the University. It is a five day program that offers participants early move in, course registration in learning communities, cluster housing in the residence halls, and social activities to meet other Jump Start students, faculty/staff, and former Jump Start participants.

A program designed to assist minority students in obtaining a business degree through a collaborative effort between the University of Northern Iowa’s College of Business and Iowa’s business community.
Multicultural Initiatives in Teaching 205 Schindler Ed. Center 273-2924
A program designed to promote cultural diversity in education and assist minorities in obtaining a degree in teaching. You will receive academic counseling and tutoring sessions with student assistants who help you make the transition to university life.

On-campus health facility that is open to registered students in need of care. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. Services include, but are not limited to: general medicine, immunizations and TB testing, allergy injections, pharmacy, physical examinations, urgent care visits and women’s heath.
