"Women and the Imposter Syndrome"

Dr. Perreault will speak on women who doubt their abilities despite objective evidence of their abilities. They feel like an imposter in their job or leadership position and fear being found out. This presentation will describe the syndrome, give reasons for its existence and discuss strategies to overcome it.

 

Gerri Perreault, Director of Leadership Studies, Ph.D., University of Minnesota, 1981. Dr. Perreault teaches courses for the Leadership Studies Program and the Department of Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Postsecondary Education, some of which are graduate level courses. Her courses pay significant attention to stereotypes about and perspectives of women and people of color. Her scholarly interests focus on friendship as a metaphor for leadership, ethical leaders and ethical followers, and citizen leadership
