Diversity Week Keynote: Bob Zellner

Diversity on the Front Bridge

Bob Zellner A civil rights legend, Bob Zellner was a young white college student in 1961 when he became one of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee's (SNCC) first white staff members - and eventually one of the last. A field secretary for SNCC in Mississippi, he worked there on behalf of the civil rights movement until the activist broke up in 1970. Now Bob Zellner continues to tell the story of the racial hatred that pitted the white against black in the deep south.

In this lecture, he will talk about his years with the SNCC and the civil rights period emphasizing its relevance to current racial incidents and the need for multicultural diversity and racial harmony on campuses and in society. He remains active in the human rights struggle today.

(A reception will be held at the CME following the presentation)
