2007 1. Why did you decide to attend the CIEP?:
It was, to me, the most organized option to learn English, considering the methodology.
2. What did you like most about the CIEP?:
The general organization of the program and the possibility of learning both culture and language. It made it a complete experience. I also found the Conversation Partner Program to be a very interesting tool, it allowed me to know the daily activities of the local people in Cedar Falls.
3. What do you tell your friends in your home country about the CIEP?:
I tell them it was a great learning and social experience, not only for the language knowledge I acquired but also for the experiences I had while at the University and the CIEP.
4. How do the CIEP and UNI help international students with their education?:
Enabling their social insertion by giving them the language and social knowledge. All the activities and events are planned with a focus on the integration of the people.
5. What have you been doing since you received your CIEP Certificate?:
I came back to my home country with a change in my future plans. I began to think about the possibility of returning to the U.S. to develop my professional career.
Currently, I work as an IT Manager at the City Hall where I live and during my spare time I work on Web site development. I’ve done some Web design work for companies in Iowa.
6. How do you use the skills that you gained in the CIEP?:
I use the knowledge I received at the CIEP while working on a way to implement my career project in the U.S..
7. What is your favorite CIEP memory?:
Actually, all my memories from theCIEP are wonderful; maybe my favorite one was the meeting held with the rest of the students and their families. It helped us make new friends, and it was full of new cross-cultural experiences.
8. What was the most difficult thing that you had to get used to when you began your studies in a foreign country?:

10. What advice would you give to students who are thinking about coming to the CIEP?:
I’d tell them not to skip the chance to get into the program; it is a great opportunity to live an unforgettable cultural experience!!
11. What advice would you give to students who are currently in the CIEP?:
Follow the program strictly, don’t miss any classes or homework, participate in the activities at the campus, and don’t miss the cross-cultural activities that are taking place daily as they are an important plus to the program.
