Students travel to Dubuque and Galena

On June 18, a group of nearly 40 CIEP students and staff took a trip to Dubuque, Iowa.  In the morning, they had the opportunity to ride the Spirit of Dubuque, an aunthentic paddlewheel boat.  

They took a tour around Dubuque and enjoyed lunch on the boat.  In the afternoon, the students went to Galena, Illinois for a little shopping and the Great Galena Balloon Race.

The Great Galena Balloon Race is a three-day event showcasing over 20 hot-air balloons, a car show, races, music, and various activities.  This event is also a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the event takes place every year at the Eagle Ridge Resort.  Students had the opportunity to see the hot-air balloons and enjoy the car show, music, and activities.
