July 8, 2014-- Reports to the Culture and Intensive English Program (CIEP); delivers instruction for classes in English as a Second Language in an eight-week intensive English program; assigns and corrects homework; evaluates students through self-developed and standardized assessments; determines grades for students; assists the CIEP activities coordinator with cultural activities; delivers informative sessions for new incoming students during the orientation program; attends staff meetings; and conducts office hours.
July 1, 2014 -- As of July 1, 2014, Carolina Coronado-Park will be the Interim Director of the UNI Culture & Intensive English Program. Carolina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science with an emphasis in Journalism from Universidad de Piura, Peru in 1995. She later completed the Culture and Intensive English Program (CIEP). In 1999, she earned her Masters of Arts in Political Science at UNI. Carolina will be serving as the interim CIEP Director for the 2014-2015 academic year, as the previous Director, Philip Plourde has assumed leadership responsibilities for the UNI Office of International Programs. These leadership changes follow the resignation of the Associate Provost for International Programs, Dr. Craig Klafter.
Monday, June 10 -- The Summer 2014 session will begin on Tuesday, June 10 and end on August 1, 2014. All CIEP students must come to the CIEP office to pick up their individual schedules. Schedules can be picked up at the CIEP Office in Bartlett Hall, Room 3025 between 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9. Any questions can be sent to email@example.com.
June 2, 2014 --Since 2012, the CIEP has offered scholarships to international students desiring to learn English that demonstrate both academic and professional merit as well as financial need. We are pleased to announce the following recipients of the 2014 Fall CIEP Tuition Scholarship: Alan Josue Posadas Martinez and Eyerusalem Woldecherkos. Each scholarship recipient has been awarded the costs of two CIEP sessions, amounting in a total award of $4,500.
