On June 18, a group of nearly 40 CIEP students and staff took a trip to Dubuque, Iowa.  In the morning, they had the opportunity to ride the Spirit of Dubuque, an aunthentic paddlewheel boat.

Last Wednesday a group of CIEP students and the Fatih University students met with volunteers from the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP).  

The students were able to speak to seniors about their own cultures and American culture.  CIEP offers opportunites for students to meet with RSVP participants several time throughout each session.

Last Friday, CIEP students and staff shared a taste of their cultures at the International Food Potluck.  Students met at the Lampost Theatre in Cedar Falls with a dish from their home countries.

CIEP Welcomes new summer students!

On July 6, twenty new summer program students arrived on the University of Northern Iowa campus.  These students will be participating in one of three summer programs being offered this month at CIEP: The Intensive Business English Program, the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education Grant Program, and an study abroad program with National Chengchi University.

The director and staff at CIEP have made a change to the academic probation policy in the CIEP.  Currently, a student can be put on academic probation for poor performance in class.

This week, CIEP welcomes all new students for the Fall 1 2011 session!  The orientation has begun and new students are currently participating in a variety of sessions where they will have the chance to explore campus and learn about being a student in the CIEP.

It is with great pride that the UNI Culture and Intensive English Program announces its achievement of five years accreditation as granted by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) in Washington, D.C. 

UNI is ranked second in the Best Universities in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report

The University of Northern Iowa is ranked second in the "Best Regional Universities (Midwest)" category for public universities, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2012 "America's Best Colleges" guidebook.

The magazine's ranking criteria include peer assessment, academic reputation, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation-rate performance and alumni giving rate.
