The Faculty Senate of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts calls
for nominations for the CHFA Faculty Excellence Award. The purpose
of the
award is to honor tenured faculty who have excelled as teachers
and scholars and effectively combined the two into exciting classroom
experiences. The CHFA Senate may choose to extend the deadline in the event that fewer than two nominations are received. From among the nominations the CHFA Senate may select one for the Faculty Excellence Award. The Senate may choose not be confer an award.
Selected nominees will be asked to submit the following materials:
- CV
- two semesters worth of student evaluations (most recent)
- two letters of reference specifically addressing the link between teaching and research
- personal statement descriving how scholarship is connected to the classroom
- a maximum of three supporting odcuments (i.e., syllabi, articles, etc.)
The recipient will make a presentation to the college community and invited
guests during the fall semester. During the fall presentation a $500 cash award
will be given by the College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
Nominations may be made by faculty, staff, or students.
Completed Nomination Forms must be returned to the
CHFA Senate (0358) by November 30, 2007.
