The Department of English Language and Literature takes as
its purpose the study of literature, writing and language. The
department's major programs prepare students for a wide variety of
vocations, ranging from secondary and college/university teaching and
careers in writing, editing,publishing and public information to professional
positions. The Department of English Language and Literature offers the
following degrees: 

• Undergraduate Major (BA) and Minors:

  • English 
  • English-Teaching
  • TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language)
  • TESOL-Teaching Writing (Minor only) -- Creative Writing and Professional Writing Options
  • Business Communication Minor 
    

  Graduate--MA:

  • Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) 
  • TESOL/Modern Languages
