The College of Humanities and Fine Arts (CHFA) will be offering
merit-based
scholarships to incoming students this year.
Scholarships Include:
1. $5,000 per year for four years as long as student maintains a minimum
grade point average and has a major in the College of Humanities and Fine
Arts.
2. Tickets to Artists Series events, Theatre UNI productions and/or other
CHFA events the student wishes to attend during each academic year.
Requirements (must meet all requirements):
1. ACT score of 27 or higher.
2. Rank in the upper 15% of graduating class.
3. Plan to declare a major in one of the departments of the College of Humanities
and
Fine Arts (Art, Communication Studies, Communication Scienes and Disorders, English Language & Literature,
Modern Languages, Music, Philosophy & Religion or Theatre).
To apply:
1. Complete the electronic Common Scholarship Application (www.uni.edu/finaid).
2. A 1-2 page essay telling us something about yourself, why you have selected your major area of study, the names of the two teachers you have asked to write your recommendations and any extra-curricular activities in which you have participated.
Upload your essay to the scholarship application.
3. Letters of recommendation from two of your high school teachers. Your teachers
should send their letters of recommendation directly to:
