UNI TV News is a 30-minute Weekly News Program Produced By and For UNI Students

The UTV News crew works hard to inform the student body and greater public of the Cedar Falls community about issues on and off Campus.

Each member of the UNI TV News team is a student at the University of Northern Iowa, located in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

All members are currently taking 48E:013 Video Production: UNI-TV, or 48E:113 Video Practicum: UNI TV. The classes are Electronic Media courses in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Northern Iowa.

The entire class works together as a production team and all share responsibility for the production of the weekly live news. Timing, accuracy, and good preparation are among the disciplines students learn by taking this class.

Throughout the course students acquire excellent production, writing, performing, and reporting skills.

By the end of their time on Panther News every student is able to:

- Direct and Produce a TV news/sports program.

- Work as an anchor or reporter in a TV news/sports program.

- Produce news/sports packages or documentaries for electronic media.

- Produce short segments for variety shows.

- Work in news/sports production crews.
