A one-week workshop for high school students that allows for a hands-on experience with the tools of biotechnology. Students will isolate DNA, analyze it, and understand how these techniques are used in gathering DNA evidence from a crime scene. Other topics include a project that looks at genetically modified foods, food safety and understanding the role of biotechnology in the production of energy. Field trips are included.
