Alumna to Give TED Talk in Kansas City

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—University of Northern Iowa alumna, Beth Nybeck, is set to speak at the Kansas City TED Talks on February 20th, 2014. The theme is Idea Generation(s), and will focus on creativity and innovation through perseverance. All presenters will have overcome personal and/or professional difficulties to reach success.

Their stories offer inspiration and challenge viewers to strive towards success in their own lives.

Nybeck, a visionary, artist and large-scale metal sculptor, lives and works in the Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City. Her work has been sculpted for places such as Concourse Park in Kansas City, the John Wayne International Airport in California and the National Special Olympic Torch in Nebraska.

Nybeck believes that art is a way to influence and connect to others. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from UNI.
