Science Education
The interdisciplinary science education faculty, drawn from the science departments in the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, is involved in preparing future elementary and secondary science teachers. Liberal arts science courses for elementary education majors stress inquiry and experiential learning and model exemplary teaching. In addition to preparing science teachers, the science education faculty plays a leadership role in science education, conducts research in various aspects of teaching and learning science, works on curriculum development and provides professional development and service to current teachers.
