Green Iowa AmeriCorps
Empowering communities through energy education, weatherization, and outreach

Green Iowa AmeriCorps, a community service organization hosted at the University of Northern Iowa, helps Iowans become more energy efficient through residential weatherization, energy education, and community outreach. The work has flourished since it began in 2009, weatherizing hundreds of homes and saving thousands of dollars in energy costs annually.
Green Iowa AmeriCorps commits to reaching unmet energy efficiency needs in the state of Iowa through the service of AmeriCorps members and volunteers. The program has provided training and service opportunities to nearly 150 AmeriCorps members who have dedicated over 130,500 hours of service!
