With the sudden unavailability of the track in Marshalltown, Jeff and I have been forced to move the spring race
to Hawkeye Downs. We will not have a design competition. Since this is an oval track and not a road course,
we will be performing a "pass/no pass" manueverability and braking test.

Marshalltown
It is our understanding that the Marshalltown track (Iowa International Raceway) has switched owners.
We are trying to make contact with them, but the racing possibilities in Marshalltown are bleak.
Alternative site locations are being drafted, including a race on the same day but elsewhere.

Iowa Electrathon Scholarship Materials
A scholarship fund has been established for Iowa Electrathon participants that
plan to attend the University of Northern Iowa. This will be a minimum $500 scholarship.

Requirements include an advisor reference letter, a teammate reference letter, and
an essay or multimedia presentation. Scholarship applications will be due June 5, 2008.

Car Safety and Fastening Guidelines
Due to increased race mishaps, all parts and pieces must be securely attached to the vehicle.
If ANY PART (canopies, wheel covers, battery boxes, etc) comes apart and lands onto the track,
the black flag will be issued and that car will not finish that particular heat.
