F.R.E.E. (Fabulous Resources for Energy Education)

Helping Teachers Teach about Energy

The Fabulous Resources for Energy Education (F.R.E.E.) program was developed in response to the needs of Iowa’s educators. FREE provides materials to help people better understand the choices and consequences related to energy production and use.

Our F.R.E.E. kits, games, activities, videos, documents, and links provide the knowledge and motivation you need to become an energy aficionado – an enthusiastic and knowledgeable energy educator! Educators can't teach and students don't learn with empty hands.  F.R.E.E. helps you fill those hands with materials that make learning about energy fun and exciting!

First visit to the F.R.E.E. site? You'll find lesson plans and activities for the classroom that are adaptable for various groups. We even offer materials to build things like mini solar cars and mini wind turbines, free downloads to energy games, and support through our various forms of outreach. Iowa educators can borrow materials at F.R.E.E. Loan Form. Anyone can purchase our solar car and wind turbine kits at the F.R.E.E. Store (coming soon!).

< On the left of this page, check out a multitude of resources in the menu organized by energy type. You can also find more information about what we have to offer through outreach and special events.

In the sidebar to the right, find the loan form, check loan order status, and peruse the F.R.E.E. Store (coming soon!). >
