Welcome to your Level II field experience at the UNI Child Development Center. Our teachers are looking forward to meeting you and working with you over the next four weeks. We invite you to be an active participant in the classroom and to take every opportunity to interact with our children. We focus on children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. You will observe the classroom teachers providing age appropriate materials for children to construct knowledge through play. You will also plan and implement two connected lessons and complete the Teacher Work Sample incorporating the Iowa Early Learning Standards. Examples of other Teacher Work Samples can be found here. Teachers will provide feedback and encouragement as you learn and grow through this experience. Journaling throughout this experience will help you become a reflective practitioner. Before you begin the experience, be sure that you:
•complete OSHA Training, DCI Criminal History Background Check, and Mandatory Reporter of Abuse Training •contact your UNI CDC teacher to confirm your placement schedule if you are unable to attend orientation
