Candice York
I am beginning my third year as Coordinator of the Child Development Center. Prior to this I was a lead teacher in all the classrooms and Assistant Coordinator for three years as well. I have a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education; a MA in Early Childhood; and currently pursuing a doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction at UNI. My dissertation research involves physical science curriculum for infants and toddlers.
I am a National Certified Administrator; an NAEYC local assessor; and on the board for the National Coalition for Campus Children's Centers. Some of my proudest moments have been leading my wonderful staff to becoming the first center in Iowa to receive a level 5 in the Quality Rating System and NAEYC accreditation.
I am married to Kevin and we have 5 children; Carie, Caitlin, Justine, Joselyn, and Christian. My hobbies include traveling, reading, walking, bowling, scrapbooking and the St. Louis Cardinals.
