The following are guidelines for decoration of the space in the Commons.
- A variety of colored table linens and napkins are available with event.
- Chair covers and sashes can be special ordered through UNI Catering or brought in by the guest.
- Open flames are not allowed. All candles must be enclosed in a glass holder. Example would be a votive candle in a holder or a floating candle in a vase. We can provide the votive candles and tea lights with holders for an additional fee.
- Glitter and confetti shall not be used. Additional clean up fee will be assesed if used.
- Taping on the walls or painted surfaces is prohibited (including fireplace mantles).
- Decorations may be hung with monofilament from the balconies.
- Artificial flower petals may be used for accenting on tables or floors for weddings. Real petals that are loose are prohibited from being placed on tablecloths or the floors.
- Decoration of the spaces can begin at 8:00 a.m. the day of the event, unless arranged prior with planner.
- Mirror tiles can be rented from UNI Cateing.
- Fireplace mantles can be decorated.
- Free standing decorations can be used, however no doors may be blocked.
- Windowsills in the ballroom can be decorated.
- The windows in the ballroom and lounge can have blinds lowered with prior arrangement with planner.
- Current tables in the lounge can be decorated.
